  • All because I was in a cooking mood...

And found a video of how to make injera, the flatbread of Ethiopia. "Oh, sweet!" I thought, remembering the heaven on my tastebuds when I first had them in Kenya and again in restaurants in the States, and proceeded to try and teach myself the much-more-complicated-than-I-first-thought steps. When I got to the point of resolving to only eat injera in Ethiopian restaurants from now on, I started wondering who this intriguing and gutsy woman was, and how in the world she even knew let alone liked injera enough to post a video of the how-to's on YouTube. And wouldn't you know it, it's because she has Ethiopian kids! And after 2 years of praying and waiting, as her church and community came together for this family to adopt orphans from Ethiopia~

And I've never seen an Ethiopian person I didn't think was beautiful but these kids are just... wow. Just thought I'd share the video. What a cute family.

  • LOL~

A little change from all the political ranting I do on here...
Thank you Isaac, my beloved and loving brother for photographing the memories and conspiring with
Kim, and brought all my friends I never get to see in one place (so rare~!)
And the weather was so nice that day, it brought me all the way back to Hawaii
But this time with family and long-time friends... *sigh*

    Enjoy the pics~!

  • that's d-o-u-b-l-e, s-t-a-n-d-a-r-d...

or do I have to spell that again?

So, Don Imus calls the Rutgers basketball team "nappy-headed hos" (hey, if Jon Stewart can repeat it 10 times in succession I can write it once here) and yet Snoop Dogg has the gall to say that Imus is wrong, and that SNOOP DOGG can say whatever he wants in his lyrics because it's his "art" and from his "soul". That was it for me. I stopped listening to hip hop and mainstream anything after I stopped choreographing for my dance teams, but when I heard Snoop's statement, that was REALLY it for me. The sheer nerve of these "artists" -- purely disgusting inside and out. And I know that "that's just the way it is" but at least I'll say it's royally screwed up and makes me want to puke straight into that festering cesspool called gangsta (c)rap.

But to add fuel to the fire, in comes Akon's assault on a Caribbean girl from Trinidad & Tabago. I'm genuinely glad to say that I had no idea who this thug was until I heard the news. Whatever happens with this situation though, it's only the tip of the iceberg. Mainstream gangsta rap propagates and advocates a misogynistic, violent, criminal, and vile culture and I seriously question the moral integrity of anyone who champions it.

    Akon's Assault

Akon... shut up and [don't] sing. really. just shut up. your beats aren't good enough to cover the lyrics.

And one note on my way out: It's interesting, in the least, that some of the videos I've put up here on xanga, linked from YouTube, have gone down. For instance, there's nothing substantial on CPAC available for viewing at YouTube, including the Ann Coulter speech I linked here in a previous post. There were DOZENS of conservative speeches from CPAC before, but they're now all down. Dozens on Ann Coulter, IN CONTEXT, but now all you see is her saying the word "faggot" and people saying she's anti-gay. What the... if they'd heard the rest of her speech, she talked about just that, how everyone gets her wrong on that issue and much more. Michelle Malkin, conservative blogger and video blogger who happens to be Filipina, has time and time again been rejected and pulled from YouTube for only God knows what reason... literally, cuz I don't have a flippin' clue why she's always targeted. Oh yeah, that's right. Liberals hate her, so nuff said? And for those who may think "Well, I'm sure they do that for radical Liberal ideas too"... um... where are the Liberals, complaining about having dozens of videos pulled because of political speech? And yet YouTube doesn't pull all the jihad propaganda videos it has up... (and there are HUNDREDS) hm... a bit slanted, dontchathink? (mind you, these videos have been up for MONTHS. Michelle Malkin's video WASN'T EVEN UP FOR ONE DAY)

Here's where Google's new motto comes in, that YouTube should take to heart as well as all those who value freedom of speech:

    "DON'T BE EVIL."

on that note, and extra depraved tidbit of jihad at its "best" - 12-year-old beheads a man
